Astro’s story begins in 1972, when a simple recipe took root in Canada. Inspired by traditional Balkan-style yogurt made with only a few simple ingredients, the first batches of Astro® were crafted with care and quickly found their way into neighbourhood stores. What began as a family recipe soon became a kitchen staple. Its naturally thick and creamy texture became part of breakfasts, family dishes, and the everyday routines of many Canadians.
For more than 50 years, that same approach has guided every product we make. We keep the ingredients simple: milk, cream, and cultures. We give our yogurt time to set the traditional way. We let the taste and richness speak for itself.
